From 1992 until 1998, Keith and his wife, Barb owned and operated an auction business in Minnesota. Keith transported much of the freight that was bought and sold. He also drove as an owner operator transporting "challenging" or "hard to move" freight. The idea of starting a trucking company to transport this kind of freight was forefront in his mind, but it seemed impossible to start a trucking company and keep his customer base at the same time.

Ron and his wife, Marilyn moved to London, Ohio in 1989 to assume the pastoral leadership of a small congregation. In 1998 Keith and his family began attending the church Ron pastored and the two future Daystar Transportation owners quickly became good friends.

Ron became fascinated with the trucking industry when he accompanied Keith on many runs in his truck. Without knowing that he had thought about starting a trucking company, Ron asked the question, "Have you ever considered starting a trucking company?" The rest is history!

In May of 2008 Ron retired from Daystar to start a heating and cooling business with his son Tim. Here is a link to their new business. 2009 marks not only 18 years of marriage for Keith and Barb but also 18 years of ups and downs as business owners and partners in all that they do.
